Painted Peacock isn’t your average art studio. Painted Peacock is creative space that welcomes painters of every age and ability level to come in and find their creative side in a safe and fun environment through painting pottery. Their incredibly friendly staff encourages you to find your inner artist by offering easy techniques and guidance through the whole process.

With over 300 pottery styles to choose from, there is a piece for everyone. From plates and platters to vases, soap pumps, office accessories, and serving bowls, there are plenty of functional items to paint. Trendy items are constantly being added with new items arriving weekly. Check out the line of succulents, mushrooms, and gnomes! Are you a Jedi at heart? There is a whole selection of Star Wars licensed pottery, making the perfect gift for Father’s Day! The hardest part of the whole process is simply choosing which piece you want to start with!

HOT HOT HOT

All of our paints, technically glazes, are made of a crushed up glass. These non-toxic paints wash up with just a bit of water. One coat of these paints give a watercolor effect, while 3 coats provide a solid color. Once you create your masterpiece it gets fired in the kiln, a big oven that gets up to 1831 degrees! This process melts the glass, resulting in a vibrant, shiny final product that not only looks professional, but is food-safe as well! You can eat and drink right out of your personalized pottery.

PARTY

Did you know that a group of peacocks is called a party? That’s because the crew at Painted Peacock knows how to celebrate in color! From birthday parties and holiday parties to baby and bridal showers, the Painted Peacock adds a creative twist to every event. Did we mention it’s always BYOB for guests 21+ and food is always welcome?

A party host will assist you through your child’s entire birthday party. From set up to cleanup, all you have to do is sit back and enjoy the smiles and creativity! There are several packages to choose from for every age! The Storytime for Preschoolers is perfect for your little ones. Your party host will read a story and then then guide the children as they paint a figurine or mug based on the story! The Party Animal or Blowout Party package are both perfect for kids 6-10. With dragons, mermaids, unicorns, dinos, and more, there is an adorable piece of pottery for every child to choose! LADIES NIGHT

Oh, yes. Painted Peacock offers Ladies Night every Thursday evening from 6-9pm. It’s the perfect time to grab your girlfriends and a bottle of wine….did we mention Painted Peacock is always BYOB for guests 21+? It’s sure to be an evening full of laughter, creativity, and memories.

While it might be called Ladies Night, men are welcome too! It’s $4 studio fees for all adults! Reservations are available for 6pm. Don’t forget the wine! 

HANDPRINT ART

If you haven’t heard by now, Painted Peacock is your handprint headquarters. Simply set up an appointment with one of their fully trained print experts by jumping online and booking your time, or give them a call at 252-758-1100.

Their handprint experts will help capture the perfect print, then their custom artists will hand paint your selected design around your child’s unique print. In one appointment, you can create as many pieces as you would like! 

The most difficult part of the whole process is simply choosing which medium and design you would like to create! Start off by selecting painted prints and/or clay impressions. With a painted print, your handprint expert will paint your child’s hand with a non-toxic, water-soluble paint known as a glaze. They will carefully stamp it onto any of the pre-made pottery items such as mugs, vases, platters, and more. Painted prints capture all the swirly fingerprint details right onto a food-safe and professional piece of pottery. If you decide to create a clay impression, it starts with a large, soft slab of clay. They carefully press your child’s hand or foot into the clay, leaving a tangible impression you can feel forever. It is then cut to your desired shape and size.

Once you have selected painted prints or clay impressions (or both), it’s time to decide which design you would like. From chinoiserie (ginger jar pattern) to classic laurels and elegant flowers, new designs are being added regularly. Looking for something a little more personalized? Get the little one’s footprint on a beer stein for dad and the artist can add a bit of team spirit! Cheetah print and dinosaur prints are also popular! Don’t forget a flower garden vase with all the kiddos hands on a vase for grandma!

Family and generational plaques are now available as well. These priceless pieces include a print from each member of the family, from great grandparents to the newest addition to the family, and they capture all the details in a piece that will be passed down forever.  

PAWS ON POTTERY

Just when you thought it couldn’t get any better, Painted Peacock offers paw print art as well! That’s right! They would never leave out your best friend! Both clay impressions and painted prints are offered. Simply set up an appointment and they can help capture all those sweet furry prints as well! From mugs to ornaments, Painted Peacock is your paw print headquarters.

2. Bring your child/children to your scheduled appointment. 

3. Choose your design from our menu (also found on our website). 

4. Sit back and relax as our handprint experts do the rest! 

5. Pick up your hand painted gift and present your gift. Watch her tear up with joy.
