Bury shopping center celebrates Jubilee with pottery painting party

A shopping centre in Bury celebrated the Platinum Jubilee with a pottery painting party after it received funding from the Local Bury Council Cultural Commission.

Prior to the event, the Mill Gate Shopping Centre held a colouring competition aimed at child in the area and colouring sheets featuring the Mill Gate Shopping Centre were provided to children via an online download or at customer services.

Children then coloured in the fabulous Mill Gate-inspired design which included a commemorative plate for the Jubilee.

The winners were then selected to attend a Pottery Painting Party, hosted by local company Fired Paint A Pot Café, where they were able to bring their designs to life, creating their very own beautiful commemorative plates.

Fired Paint A Pot Café owner Emma showed the children the process of designing their plates and the behind-the-scenes process she undertakes to glaze and fire them.
