JOHNSON CITY, Tenn. (WJHL) – Into the Fire pottery studio in downtown Johnson City hosted its annual Mother’s Day Tea Party on Sunday.

Mothers, grandmothers, aunts and daughters gathered at Into the Fire on Sunday for a tea party-themed pottery painting session.

Leslie Greenlee, owner of Into the Fire, told News Channel 11 about what inspired the annual Mother’s Day event.

“This is an event I knew my mom would like, so I thought if my mom is going to like it, there are other moms out there who are going to enjoy it too,” said Greenlee. “It is a fun day to bring Mom to do something special and be creative together.”

The day was filled with treat boxes, flowers and hundreds of ceramic pieces, including teapots, tea cups and complete tea sets that could be painted.

Greenlee said the Tea Party is unlike other Mother’s Day events.

“This is fun because they get the gift of the pottery they paint, but they also get the experience of doing it with the people that they love, spending time together without distractions, and just being able to sit down and be creative and enjoy time together,” said Greenlee.

The studio has been hosting the Mother’s Day event since 2015.

Into the Fire is at 9 Cherry St #30, Johnson City, TN.
