Business brings a creative outlet to Twin Falls

TWIN FALLS, Idaho (KMVT/KSVT) — In this week’s Behind the Business, we look at one business in downtown Twin Falls which has given both children and adults a creative outlet.

Hands on was started in 2003 by one local mother who noticed there weren’t very many activities for children in the area.

Hands on is a paint your own pottery studio, which also has classes, birthday parties, trivia nights, as well as canvas classes.

The owner of the pottery studio says she came onto the team to share her business and marketing background, but also has a love for art.

“I originally was not an artist, Robin hired me to handle the business side, because I have a business management degree, and come to find out I have a knack for it, so she started teaching me techniques, and kind of just ran with it,” said Ashley Dubois, the owner of Hands on.

Dubois has worked at Hands on for 7 years, and been the owner for 4. Her main goal at the studio is to make it an enjoyable experience for everyone.

“Beginners to advanced, you are all welcome, from 1 to 102, you are all welcome, it’s something that we can teach everybody how to create things, it’s not about your skill level, it’s about the tools that we have here to create we help you,” said Dubois.

Hands on is open Monday through Saturday from 10 a.m.-7 p.m. and Sunday’s from 12 p.m.-5 p.m.
