We cannot emphasize enough the invaluable importance of your participation in our financial survey. DID YOU KNOW?!
One CCSA member used a previous CCSA Financial Survey to break through a sales plateau! She compared similar-sized studios in similar markets to see what the higher sales studios were doing differently than she was. The survey showed they were open up to 20 hours a week longer than she was. After looking at her labor cost versus the survey averages, she increased studio hours, and broke her sales record while keeping her payroll at a sustainable level!
Studios less than 1,000 SF
What are your sales per square foot? Are studios your size grossing higher sales? Do they carry more options?
What can you do with this data? Revisit your space to determine how to increase your sales per square foot.
1,000 - 2,000 SF studios
How many employees do you have on average? How many hours a week do they work? Does another studio your size operate with more or less staff?
What can you do with this information? Rethinking your staffing hours (and job descriptions!) can quickly make a difference to your bottom line.
2,000 - 3,000 SF studios
What size area do you serve? What does your competition look like? Do other studios your size see the same foot traffic?
What can you do with this data? You may see heavier foot traffic, but lower sales than other studios. How can you use these results to improve your traffic?
3,000+ SF studios
What percentage of your floor space is selling space? How many payroll hours do you average a week? How often are you working in the studio?
What can you do with this information? How do other large studios manage their selling space? And do they manage their payroll hours similar to yours?
Mobile studios
How do your marketing expenses compare to other mobile studios? What size area do you serve compared to other mobiles? What do other mobile studios offer that you may consider?
What can you do with this data? Are your marketing efforts as effective as other mobile studios? Is there a mobile studio with higher-grossing sales in a similar market? How can you increase your sales?
The survey results will include helpful insight like:
Demographics: geographic breakdown (where are you) and what kind of location (shopping center, mall, stand-alone building, etc.)
Competitors
Hours of operation and seating
Most effective marketing
Employees, employee scheduling system and payroll
Your work hours
Professional services: accountant, consulting services, etc.
